Marcel Zidani
Marcel Zidani studied piano under the direction of the renowned teacher Mark Racz at the Birmingham Conservatoire, where he graduated with Honours in 1995. He has performed extensively as a soloist in Europe, as well as giving concerts locally and in the Midlands. He has given masterclasses, adjudicated for music competitions, performed at music festivals all over the country and is a devoted piano teacher.
Marcel's CD Piano in the Small Hours, featured on BBC Radio 3, is the result of improvised sessions. Marcel has received glowing reviews in the international press, and the Sunday Times described the performance of compositions from his CD A New Renaissance as "an explosion of expressive tonal colours". His performance of Beethoven's Sonata The Tempest and Liszt's Un Sospiroreceived equal critical acclaim. Marcel's concerto performances include Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2, Addinsell's Warsaw Concerto, Litolff's Scherzo, Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2, Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 and Saint-Saens' Carnival of the Animals.
