Winchcombe Pottery was established in 1926 on the site of an old country pottery going back to the early 1800's. Between 1926 and the early fifties the pottery produced domestic slipware, fired in a bottle-kiln which is still standing but is not now used.
The pottery now produces a wide range of hand-thrown stoneware pots for domestic use fired to about 1300 C in a down draught wood fired kiln. Stoneware pottery is hard, durable and entirely free from lead or any injurious chemicals.
