13 Jan Charingworth Court Open Garden
Charingworth Court Open Garden
Artistically and lovingly created, Charingworth Court Open Garden is 1½ acres of beautiful garden to delight the senses. It surrounds a restored Georgian/Tudor house (not open), and is designed in a relaxed country style with Japanese influences. There is a large pond and walled vegetable/flower garden, created over 24 years from a blank canvas. Mature copper beech trees, Cedar of Lebanon and Wellingtonia all add to its charm, with younger trees replacing an earlier excess of Cupressus leylandii.
As knowledge and understanding of the site and the soil developed, the 1½ acres has matured into a wonderful backdrop of colour and texture from new trees, shrubs and perennials.
The garden is open Saturday 16 May, 11:30 – 6 pm, with home made teas and refreshments in aid of The Children’s Society.
Also open, Sunday 17 May, 11;30 – 6pm
All day parking in Winchcombe can be found at Back Lane Car Park for £1 per day.
Make the most of your garden visit and see the wonderful Stanway Fountain & Water Garden open the 17 May too.
Once again the garden will showcase a range of sculpture, most for sale with a percentage going to NGS charities. Full details for Charingworth Court here.
