Don Jones Exhibition
A retrospective exhibition of local potter, Don Jones (1936 – 2019) showing a selection of pots from Don’s own collection, generously loaned by Molly Jones. The exhibition will be on for the rest of the Winchcombe Museum season.
Don Jones was a local man who started working at Winchcombe Pottery in the school holidays. When he left school in 1950, he was taken on as an apprentice. Apart from his National Service, he stayed at the pottery until 1971, leaving to earn more money for less demanding work at the Postlip Paper Mill, so that he could support his wife, Molly. However, he installed a kiln at home and carried on making pots.
