This is an evening built around the pressing issue of climate change. A quiz, a discussion and a film that has made waves.
The National Emergency Briefing is a film presented by Chris Packham, with guests Jennifer Saunders and others. Join them as they learn about the scale of the crisis, which is explained clearly and simply by nine leading UK scientists and experts.
The screening will be followed by a quiz and discussion, providing an opportunity to share concerns, hopes and ideas in a supportive environment. It is a chance to listen, ask questions and explore together what we can do in response to the challenges ahead.

Fancy a little adventure into the unknown this Halloween weekend?
We’ll start from Winchcombe and make our way towards Belas Knap, but this time we’re going to venture a little further off the beaten track!
There’s a trail near the mound that leads down towards a rather gnarly old tree. I’ve explored part of it before, but there’s still more of the track that I haven’t ventured into yet… so who fancies coming along to see where it takes us?
We’ll explore the track, head back out towards Belas Knap and then continue on a circular route before eventually rejoining the road we started on.
Expect woodland, countryside, muddy paths, autumn colours and hopefully a little bit of spooky atmosphere along the way!

Come and explore a slightly different side of the Cotswolds as we head out from Winchcombe to discover the source of the River Isbourne.
We’ll make our way towards Washpool, before heading around 200 metres further to reach the source itself. From there, we’ll continue onwards and take a little detour through the plantation to find the abandoned car hidden away in the woods.
We’ll then work our way back down towards Postlip, eventually rejoining the route and making our way back towards Winchcombe.
There’ll be plenty of countryside, woodland, muddy paths, a few hills and hopefully lots of beautiful views along the way.

These short free walks are led by local people who are keen to share some of the history of the town.
They are for anyone, visitor or resident, who is interested in the fascinating history of Winchcombe – from ancient Saxon Borough to World War 2 and the present day. They are short and easy: designed to be accessible to all, lasting 1-1¼ hours and covering less than a mile – all on pavements or hard surfaces around the town centre.
They will start and finish at the Undercroft (Museum / Town Hall).
Dogs on leads are welcome.
