The Way of the Cross
Around 500 people attended the Good Friday Passion Play in historic Winchcombe this Easter. Volunteer amateur actors from every walk of life descended on Abbey Terrace in the town on Good Friday, to stage the ‘The Way of the Cross’, a traditional Passion Play depicting Jesus’ last few hours from sentencing right through to crucifixion.
Members of each of the four churches in the town came together to portray the moving story, witnessed by residents and visitors.
This was a graphic and “shocking” reenactment to show the sacrifices Jesus made and below are some of the scenes portrayed.
We believe no more words are necessary.
