A relaxing walk to boost your mood and connect with others in nature!

Join us for an adventure that’s all about connecting creativity and wellbeing! This is the first of four relaxed walks, perfect for meeting new people, enjoying fresh air, and connecting to nature and the special place that is Cleeve Common.
The walks will be run by our Community Engagement Officer Nicole and Amanda Steer a local artist and print maker. Together they will weave together their love and knowledge of nature, wildlife, art and the Common into the Five Ways of Wellbeing.
Each will follow a similar format and route but will have slightly different focus and activities each time. We recommend trying to come to all the walks, but if you can only make this one, that is great.

The route we will take follows the Tramper Trail, so it is suitable for anyone using off road mobility equipment or who would rather avoid some of the steep climbs on the Common. The pace will be gentle and there will be regular stops along the route, including at benches.

Sudeley Castle – Civil War Weekend

Sudeley’s walls bear the marks of the English Civil War and these crucial moments in the castle’s past will be brought to life through a Civil War re-enactment. Members of Lord Hopton’s Regiment of Foote, part of The King’s Army from the English Civil War Society, will be revealing the story of Prince Rupert, Charles I’s nephew, who established headquarters at Sudeley while managing Royalist operations nearby.

Featuring a skirmish in the Hop Field, pike drills with drummers on the North Lawn witnessed from the Tithe Barn and a living history village set up on the Mulberry Lawn complete with medics, washing and cooking, this event will give you all the drama, intrigue and tension of a pivotal moment in English history. You can also enjoy a taste of the past with Civil War-themed specials available in our Pavillion café during the weekend.

Winchcombe Film Society normally meets on the last Friday evening of the month at Abbey Fields Community Centre.
Membership costs £30 per person for a full year of 12 films, or pro rata (ie £2.50 per month from your first film), with no further admission charge. You can join on the night, but it’s easy to pay with a card reader on the day or pay by BACS to Winchcombe Film Society, sort code 40-63-01, account 51056231, giving your name as reference.
Wine is available at just £2 a glass and free tea and coffee is served from 7:00pm to 7:20pm, with screenings at 7:30pm, usually after a short introduction to the film.
Members can also borrow any of nearly 200 DVDs of top-rated films without charge.
We welcome new members and visitors who may attend their first meeting free, but are asked to contribute toward the cost of refreshments. Admission thereafter is by membership only; we cannot accept individual admission payments due to licensing restrictions.

Follow the trail from Quarry car park down to the Wash pool where we will meet you with stream dipping equipment. Wellies recommended – closed shoes are essential for entering the water.

We will provide some mini raft making equipment, but why not bring your own scissors, string and accessories and you can collect sticks on your walk down.
Booking essential. You only need to book for the children in your group.

Susy Firth, chanteuse anglaise, Parisian by adoption, offers us a repertoire that celebrates the fleeting beauty of life.
Accompanying herself on the piano in a musical style somewhere between jazz, chanson française and cabaret. Susy sings of love and death, ships and shadows, with the words of contemporary French authors and long dead English poets that she has set to music (Françoise Hardy, Jacques Brel, Leonard Cohen, Rupert Brooke, William Blake, W.H. Auden).

Generous and engaging with the audience, Susy takes us from laughter to tears, consoles, challenges and captivates us. There is no need to understand French to be touched by the sensual melancholy and luminous emotion of Susy’s repertoire and interpretation.
