21 Jul Cleeve Common – Family Fun Friday: Ranger for the Day
Join us for the day in Wardens’ Wood for some practical management before a picnic around the campfire and some bushcraft fun
Friday, 1st November
10:30am – 2:30pm
We will start with our Conservation Officer Giles as he explains how we keep our woodlands in the best condition we can for a variety of wildlife. We will then do some practical management in the form of coppicing and thinning which gives larger trees more room to thrive and allows more light down to the woodland floor which benefits ground flora, invertebrates and birds.
After breaking for a picnic lunch we will then have some family fun in the woods making dens.
We will stay together as a group throughout, so please arrive for a prompt 10:30am start.
Please bring a picnic to keep you sustained! Note there are no facilities on this part of the Common.
- Cost: £3.00 (plus booking fee) per person
