Belas Knap Longbarrow

Cotswold Warden Guided Walk

Wardens’ Wood to Belas Knap and the Breakheart Plantation

Tuesday, 9th January
10:00am

Duration: 3 hours
Distance: 5.5 miles
OS Grid Ref: SP 010 236
Starting Point: Wardens’ Wood car park

A steady walk up to the Stone Age Tomb of Belas Knap. Followed by a descent through fields and woodland and along a country lane until we meet the climb back to the top of the Common where we can all get our breath back before ambling back to the car park.
From Wardens’ Wood car park to Belas Knap where we clamber over the only two stiles on the walk. We then follow the Cotswold Way down to the Breakheart Plantation where we will meet the only steep climb, which we will take very steadily. We emerge onto Cleeve Common and journey back down to the car park. Weather permitting there will be great views across to Sudeley, over the Winchcombe valley and across Cleeve Common.

Leaders: Lynne Kelly, Steven Pascoe and Brad Blake
