Cycling

Cycling from Winchcombe.  A great place to get on your bike!

Each year Winchcombe hosts the Hell of the North Cotswolds, the original and classic British Endurance Cycling Event.

Winchcombe is a great centre for cycling the Cotswolds, Severn Vale and Vale of Evesham.  We have both flat and quiet country lanes, the hilly terrain of the Cotswold hills, and some excellent off-road cycling. There are many fabulous routes for training, or just enjoying yourself, and great places to eat and drink at the end of your ride.

Tour of Britain

We were very privileged to have Stage 7 of the Ovo Energy Tour of Britain ‘fly’ through Winchcombe in 2016.  The stage included the Skoda King of the Mountains climb on Cleeve Hill, inside the final 10 kilometres of the race.

HONC

Every April Winchcombe hosts the ‘Hell of the North Cotswolds’, the classic British endurance cycling event.  This is a non-competetive on & off road event aimed at experienced riders.   Various routes of 100km, 75km or 50km around the beautiful Cotswolds can be chosen on the day.

There is  also a thriving cycling club – Winchcombe Cycling Club, which caters for members of all ages, abilities and experience.  Guest riders are welcome to participate if they contact the club before joining a ride.

So what are you waiting for?  It’s time to get on your bike!
