Back Lane Car Park, Winchcombe GL54 5PZ
Join us for a beautiful countryside adventure exploring peaceful woodland trails, rolling hills and one of the Cotswolds’ most fascinating ancient landmarks
This scenic there-and-back route takes us from the charming town of Winchcombe up into the surrounding countryside towards Belas Knap – a remarkable Neolithic burial chamber sitting high on Cleeve Hill with stunning views across the Cotswolds.
Belas Knap is a prehistoric long barrow believed to be over 5,000 years old. Built during the Neolithic period, it was used as a communal burial site and remains one of the best-preserved ancient monuments in the area. Its impressive stone chambers and dramatic hilltop setting make it a truly special place to visit and a wonderful glimpse into Britain’s ancient past.

These walks are friendly, informal group hikes led by myself through my love of the outdoors and local knowledge of the area. Everyone taking part does so at their own risk and is responsible for their own safety, wellbeing and personal belongings throughout the walk.
