Mike Sumner’s 21-mile celebration walk
Intrepid Breakfast Show presenter Mike Sumner from Radio Winchcombe is putting his best feet forward to celebrate the station’s 21st anniversary in April – and he’s asking listeners to join him!
Mike will be walking one mile for every year Radio Winchcombe has been on air with his route covering 21 miles of the Winchcombe Way, beginning in the town on Saturday April 25th at 8:00am.
“As we’re a community radio station, we wanted an anniversary event in which our listeners and local communities can take part,”
says Mike.
“We’re hoping anyone who enjoys walking, whether individuals, couples or groups, will join me on one or more of the sections. You can do just a couple of miles or the whole 21, whatever suits you. Dogs on leads are also welcome.”
The walk is also raising money for station running costs and advertisers, businesses and local communities are being invited to sponsor Mike in turn for a shout-out on link-ups with live shows during the walk.
