Radio Winchcombe’s 21st Anniversary

Presenters smash target

Three Radio Winchcombe presenters led by Breakfast Show Host Mike Sumner have so far raised £905 after walking 21 miles to mark the station’s 21 years on air.

Breakfast Show presenter Mike Sumner was joined by Dominic Hopton of the Chart Hopper Show and Wallace Dobbin from the Rock ‘n’ Roll Radio show for the 11-hour challenge that they completed on Saturday (25th April).
Proceeds from the walk are going to help meet the costs of running the community station that is on air 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Mike said.

“Some of the hills towards the end were very tough and hard going. It was very hot too. By early evening we were glad to begin the descent back to Winchcombe. We’re delighted to have hit our target and thanks you to everyone who has supported us, donated and joined us on the day. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could hit the £1,000 mark? We’re only £95 away so if you can, please make a donation, however small. Thank you.”
